Vintage Jasper Chinoiserie China Cabinet/Secretaire
A lovely, elegant Chinoiserie China cabinet which has the added bonus of a fold-down secretary desk in the center. This cabinet showcases elegant craftsmanship with hand-painted Asian-inspired landscapes featuring pagodas, foliage, and birds, framed by faux bamboo with gold accents, including within the secretary. The upper cabinet lights illuminate the interior; the shelves have glass inserts to increase the illumination and the gold back adds to the shimmery effect. (Note: shelves are stationary but the glass shelf panes are removable for safe transport).
This vintage piece could be used in a dining room, living room or office and adds Chinoiserie Chic to any room it graces.
Made by Indiana-based Jasper Cabinet Company, which is known for its high-quality, handcrafted furniture. It is believed to be from the late 70s/early 80s but the period made cannot be confirmed and is a best estimate.
